Biography
Mike Musselwhite is a Vice President and Commercial Real Estate Broker with Sun Coast Partners Commercial, bringing nearly four decades of business, franchise, and site‑selection experience to clients throughout Southeastern North Carolina. He earned the title of Vice President in 2024 in recognition of repeatedly demonstrating exceptional annual sales performance, reflecting his consistent results and client trust.
Since joining Sun Coast Partners in 2018, Mike has advised local and national users on land acquisitions, site selection, and complex commercial transactions, with a focus on aligning real estate decisions to long‑term business objectives.
Prior to brokerage, Mike spent almost 40 years in the restaurant and franchise industry, including ownership of four Smithfield’s Chicken N’ BBQ locations in New Hanover and Brunswick counties. His experience includes evaluating and selecting sites, overseeing construction and development, and managing multi‑unit operations—providing him with an owner‑operator perspective that directly benefits his commercial real estate clients. Mike is a graduate of UNC Wilmington and holds a culinary certificate from Cape Fear Community College.
A Wilmington native, Mike pairs deep local market knowledge with a strong commitment to the community, including past service on the New Hanover County Board of Health and the Board of Equalization and Review. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys golfing, boating, volunteering, and spending quality time with his family—interests that reflect his strong ties to the region he serves.
