Biography
Martin joined the team in 2021, but his real estate experience began in 1994, as an NC licensed broker. In addition, Martin has been a licensed NC general contractor and developer since 1997, with an emphasis in the last 10 years on commercial redevelopment. His contracting career spans from new construction to land development, to downtown residential and commercial redevelopment, which includes purchasing and renovating old, abandoned buildings and transforming them into restaurants, offices, and retail shops.
In addition to being a small business owner, Martin has served on the Jacksonville Planning Board, Jacksonville City Council, and Onslow County Board of Commissioners, while serving a term as Chairman.
Both the public service experience and contracting experience give Martin an advantage in assisting clients with projects, which must meet city/county approval, as well as the building/upfit application process.
Martin was born in Washington D.C. and moved to Jacksonville, NC, as a boy, where he currently lives with his wife and two sons. He has enjoyed volunteering his contracting services to build Wounded Warrior and Habit for Humanity homes in his community.
As a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, Martin also enjoys UNC basketball games, tennis, and family vacations to Charleston, SC.
